On gold news, shares of Eagle Hill Exploration (TSX: V.EAG) surged 48% to 21.5 cents.
Junior miner jumps on gold drill results
Eagle Hill Exploration (TSX: V.EAG) shares surged 34% to 21.5 cents on Wednesday after the micro cap miner reported assay results from its initial splitting and assaying of up to 8,700 meters of previously drilled, but un-sampled, core from the Windfall Lake Property in Quebec, which included 5.95 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold over 21.35 meters.
Junior miner powers higher on gold results
Northern Gold Mining (TSX: V.NGM) shares climbed 45% to 27.5 cents on Friday after ValGold Resources (TSX: V.VAL) reported drill results for the first two holes of the 2009 program on its 100% owned Garrison property in northern Ontario.

Happy Creek Minerals (TSX: V.HPY) shares jumped 67% to 30 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer announced that further to the press release dated November 12, 2009, it has received final results from its 2009 drill program on the 100% owned Rateria property in south central British Columbia, which included 48.0 metres containing 0.30% copper and 0.07 g/t (grams per tonne) gold.
Colombia gold company continues selling
Ventana Gold (TSX: T.VEN) shares slid 4.95% to $8.95 on Monday. The share price dipped as low as $7.30 before rallying in the afternoon. The company released updated drill results for its La Mascota property in Colombia midway through the trading session.

Noront Resources (TSX: V.NOT) shares powered 39% higher to $2.08 on Thursday after the explorer reported newly-obtained assay results of completed drill holes from its Eagle's Nest deposit at the McFauld's Lake Property in northern Ontario, which included 22.8 metres averaging 4.41% nickel, 2.38% copper, 28.07 grams per tonne (g/t) platinum, and 7.95 g/t palladium.
Gold mine gets production go ahead in Panama
Petaquilla Minerals (TSX: T.PTQ) announced that the Government of the Republic of Panama has granted approval for Petaquilla's Molejon gold mine to advance to the commercial production stage. Petraquilla rocketed 66% to 37.5 cents
