Wireless micro cap soars on takeover bid
Shares of Kangaroo Media (TSX: V.KTV) skyrocketed 300% to 36 cents on Friday as the developer of hand-held wireless audiovisual multi-functional entertainment systems announced that it has entered into a definitive arrangement agreement for the acquisition of Kangaroo by Game Day Entertainment, LLC. Under the terms of the agreement, shareholders of Kangaroo will receive 40 cents in cash, for each common share of Kangaroo outstanding at closing, subject to a possible upward adjustment.
ARISE Technologies (T.APV) shot up 18%
Shares of ARISE Technologies (TSX: T.APV) shot up 18% to 43 cents as the solar technology provider said it has received a letter of intent for 9.54 million euros of funding from the government of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany's largest Federal State, towards launching ARISE Technology Centre GmbH, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Wireless stock pops on financial results
Shares of DragonWave (TSX: T.DWI) shot up 14% to $10.49 on Friday as the supplier of packet microwave radio systems for mobile and access networks said its second-quarter revenue soared 236% to $35.5 million from $10.6 million during the same period last year, while net income for the quarter was $6.3 million, or 21 cents a share, compared with a loss of $1.7 million a year earlier.
SemBioSys (SBS) awarded U.S. patent

Noveko tests masks for use against H1N1
Noveko International (TSX: T.EKO) shares were up 12.5% to $2.42 Tuesday, after the air filter, face mask and antimicrobial product developer announced that it has received preliminary results of tests on the Noveko antimicrobial masks with respect to the Influenza A Virus (H1N1), similar to the one responsible for the human swine flu.
LMS Medical Systems shares surge
Shares of healthcare technology firm LMS Medical Systems (TSX: T.LMZ) climbed 85.7% to 13 cents Monday, after it announced that its subsidiary, LMS Medical Systems (Canada) Ltd. has sold its software for electronic obstetrical records with surveillance and archiving of electronic fetal monitoring information to an affiliate of McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK).
