Financial Search

Financial Search is a tool which allows you to screen our entire database to develop a list of companies which match certain financial criteria you have selected. You can base your search on some, or all, of the following input parameters, or leave all fields blank to do a global search.

Rows To Return (1-999)
his entry field allows you to limit the amount of data the search will return. For example, if you only wish to see information on 10 companies, you would enter '10' here. On the other hand you might enter '999' to capture as many companies as possible. By limiting the Rows to Return, you speed your search.

Annual Dividend
This entry field allows you to screen for companies based on the last annual dividend they reported. By using the Selection Menu arrow you can select dividends which are: equal to "="; greater than ">="; or less than "<=" a particular dollar amount you select - Entry example: "<=0.50" means you are searching the entire database for all companies which have paid annual dividends of $0.50 or less during their last fiscal year. (Please do not enter the $ sign in the search field).

Price Earnings Ratio (P/E)
P/E Ratio means 'Price Earnings Ratio'. This is an analytical measurement based on a company's current share price divided by its most recently reported Earnings Per Share. It is stated as the number of 'times' a company's price covers its earnings. It is often used, along with many other tools, to compare the relative value of companies - Entry example: "0 to 30" means you are searching the entire database for all companies which have a price earnings ratio of between 0 and 30 times.

Earnings Per Share (EPS)
EPS means the after tax earnings of a company available to common shareholders divided by the number of outstanding common shares - Entry example: "0.05 to 1.75" means you are searching the entire database for all companies which have earnings of between $0.05 and $1.75 per common share. (Please do not enter the $ sign in the search field).

Market Cap ($ Millions)
'Market Cap' means Market Capitalization. This is an analytical measurement based on a formula which multiplies a company's current stock by its shares outstanding to determine an indication of the 'dollar value' of the company - Entry example: "5 to 50" means you are searching for companies which have a Market Capitalization of between $5 and $50 million. (Please do not enter the $ sign in the search field).

Shares Outstanding (Millions)
The term 'Shares Outstanding' refers to the number of common shares the company has issued which are currently held by investors (other than the company's own treasury). By using the Selection Menu arrow you can select dividends which are: equal to "="; greater than ">="; or less than "<=" a particular dollar amount you select - Entry example: ">=10" means you are searching for companies which have shares outstanding of greater than or equal to 10 million shares.

Float (Millions)
'Float' refers to the number of outstanding common shares which are 'free trading', or normally available for trading in public markets. A company's Float is based on subtracting escrowed shares and other restricted stock holdings from its outstanding common shares. Escrowed shares and holdings restricted stock holdings represent stock which is issued and outstanding but not normally available for trading in public markets - Entry example: "20 to 150" means you are searching for companies which have between 20 and 150 million shares available in their publicly traded float.

Revenue for the trailing 12 months (Millions)
