Junior explorer surges on copper results

Happy Creek Minerals (TSX: V.HPY) shares jumped 67% to 30 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer announced that further to the press release dated November 12, 2009, it has received final results from its 2009 drill program on the 100% owned Rateria property in south central British Columbia, which included 48.0 metres containing 0.30% copper and 0.07 g/t (grams per tonne) gold.

Vancouver-based Capstone Mining Corporation (TSX: T.CS) reported assay results Tuesday from 15 exploration drillholes completed on the "Minto North" discovery at the Minto Mine in the Yukon.

Breakwater Resources jumps 28%

Breakwater Resources' (TSX: T.BWR) first quarter results came in after Thursday’s market close, with Breakwater reporting a net loss of $6.5 million or one cent per share in the first quarter of 2009 compared with $6.9 million or two cents per share in the first quarter of 2008.

Exeter Resource (TSX: V.XRC) shares jumped 13% to $3.68 on Tuesday after the miner reported an interim National Instrument 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate for Caspiche, Chile, which shows a resource of 8.7 million ounces gold and 2.1 billion pounds copper.

Junior miner spikes 24%

Southern Arc Minerals (TSX: V.SA) shares soared 24% before closing up 12% to 14 cents on Thursday after the micro cap explorer reported results from its Selodong porphyry copper/gold prospect in Indonesia. The findings included 472.6 metres of 0.16% copper and 0.28 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
