Junior miner shines on production update
Revett Minerals (TSX: T.RVM) shares climbed 31% to 23 cents on Friday after the micro cap miner announced that it has received final approval from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality on its amended plan of operations to develop the previously identified higher grade "C-Beds" at the Troy Mine.
Silvermex acquires Mexico mine
Silvermex Resources(TSX: V.SMR) announced Friday that it has entered into an agreement with Aurcana Corporation (TSX: V.AUN) to acquire a 100% interest in Aurcana’s silver/gold/lead/zinc Rosario Property in Mexico.
Breakwater Resources jumps 28%
Breakwater Resources' (TSX: T.BWR) first quarter results came in after Thursday’s market close, with Breakwater reporting a net loss of $6.5 million or one cent per share in the first quarter of 2009 compared with $6.9 million or two cents per share in the first quarter of 2008.
Minera Andes reports new discovery at San Jose Mine
Minera Andes (TSX: T.MAI) announced details Thursday of the 2009 exploration program underway at the gold/silver San José Mine in southern Argentina, including discovery of a new mineralized structure 845 meters southwest of the producing Huevos Verdes vein.
Orex Minerals jumps on silver results
Orex Minerals (TSX: V.REX) shares surged 12% to 23.5 cents on Wednesday after the micro cap miner said underground chip sampling has started on the first 10 metres of drifting from the Zambranena vein on the Santa Cruz Project in Mexico. Results included 6,040 grams per tonne (g/t) silver over 1.1 metres.
Junior miner jumps 13%
Shares of Silver Bear Resources (TSX: T.SBR) climbed 13% to 43 cents after the micro cap miner reported results from exploration drilling at its 100% owned Mangazeisky silver project in the Russian Federation, which included 1,639 grams per tonne (g/t) of silver over a 5.6 metre interval.
