Gold takeover offer not applauded by everyone
Underworld Resources (TSX: V.UW) shares jumped sharply after it announced Kinross Gold (TSX: T.KGC) had made a friendly takeover bid for the company.
Wireless micro cap soars on takeover bid
Shares of Kangaroo Media (TSX: V.KTV) skyrocketed 300% to 36 cents on Friday as the developer of hand-held wireless audiovisual multi-functional entertainment systems announced that it has entered into a definitive arrangement agreement for the acquisition of Kangaroo by Game Day Entertainment, LLC. Under the terms of the agreement, shareholders of Kangaroo will receive 40 cents in cash, for each common share of Kangaroo outstanding at closing, subject to a possible upward adjustment.
Silver miner receives takeover offer
Shares of Aquiline Resources (TSX: T.AQI) shot up 28% to $7 on Wednesday after the silver miner announced it has signed a support agreement pursuant to which Pan American Silver (TSX: T.PAA) will make a formal take-over bid to acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of Aquiline.
Takeover offer spurs junior mineral exploration company
Freewest Resources (TSX: T.FRW), a mineral exploration company with chromite, gold and base-metal properties in Eastern Canada, said on Monday that it had received an unsolicited share-only takeover offer from Noront Resources (TSX: V.NOT). The thread was solidly against the offer, and in line with Freewest management, which said that the bid was “highly opportunistic” that it “significantly undervalues” the company’s assets.
Junior explorer surges on takeover deal
Northern Continental Resources (TSX: V.NCR) shares climbed 60% to 20 cents on Friday after Denison Mines (TSX: T.DML) said it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Northern Continental in an all share transaction by way of a plan of arrangement. Denison will acquire Northern on the basis of 0.0920 Denison common shares for each share of Northern, valuing Northern at 20 cents a share. Northern holds a 60% interest in the Russell Lake uranium property located immediately adjacent to Denison's new Wheeler River uranium discovery in the Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan.
Profound Energy jumps on acquisition news
Shares of Profound Energy (TSX: T.PFX) surged 80% to $1.17 Tuesday, as Paramount Energy Trust (TSX: T.PMT.UN) said it will offer to acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Profound through a take-over bid worth $112.9 million.
Redline Communication Group jumps 80%
Redline Communication Group (TSX: T.RDL) shares powered 80% higher to 45 cents after Vecima Networks (TSX: T.VCM) reported it has acquired common shares of Redline. Vecima now owns 1,742,600, or 11.37%, of Redline outstanding common stock. Danny Deadlock of microcap.com has some thoughts on a potential takeover.
